Soil Health Workshop at White Oak Pastures
June 24, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm UTC+0
In 1946 Will Bell Harris attended a farmer meeting where the positive production impact of chemical nitrogen fertilizer was demonstrated. He fell in love, and chemical fertilizers were used on every acre of White Oak Pastures lands for the next 50 years.
For the last 15 years, the lands of White Oak Pastureshave been increasingly holistically managed. Compost, cover crops, multi-species rotational grazing, and other natural practices have been utilized.
THE RESULT: The organic matter in the soil has increased 10 fold.
Will Harris will discuss how White Oak Pastures is managed in a manner that attempts to emulate nature. We hope you will choose to come and spend this day with us.
