EVENT DESCRIPTION

Course Description: This Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) monitor training is for anyone interested in learning EOV monitoring protocols for personal use and/or providing EOV monitoring services through an Accredited Savory Hub anywhere in the world.  This course provides the necessary skills to prepare to work as an EOV monitor with a Savory Hub*. (Accreditation as an Educator with the Savory Institute is necessary to gain accreditation/endorsement as an EOV Monitor). *To be accredited as an EOV Monitor, further in-field experience is required to gain the qualifications and experience needed for a Savory Hub Verifier to verify your experience for accreditation and to work as an EOV monitor for a Savory Hub anywhere in the world.

Learning Site: Deer Mountain in Montague, CA
The Deer Mountain Sanctuary is a 2000-acre ranch located in the Klamath Mountains in Northern California near Mt. Shasta and is currently being developed as one of UVE’s Learning Sites. The land is minutes from the largest dam removal and salmon restoration projects in the world on the Klamath River. The land is mountainous with varying terrain between 2800 – 3500 ft elevation with a mix of meadows, oak savannas, and mixed forest lands.

Time Commitment:
This course includes a total of 38 hours of instruction time:
(2) 3-hour virtual classes + 32 hours of hands-on fieldwork over 5 days

Dates:
Virtual Class Dates: May 16th & 23rd, 2024 (Thursdays 4pm - 7pm PST)
In-Field Dates:  12pm June 6th, 2024 through 1pm June 10th, 2024 (PST)
Note: In-person fieldwork will take place at UVE’s new and developing learning site The Deer Mountain Sanctuary in Montague, California.
